COURSE DESCRIPTION
Project Heartbeat’s Vocational Nurse (VN) Training Program is an intensive, hands-on educational experience designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in nursing. Through a combination of classroom instruction, clinical skills labs, and real-world clinical rotations, students gain the knowledge, technical skills, and confidence needed to provide safe, compassionate, and competent care across diverse healthcare settings.
This program emphasizes practical nursing fundamentals, including medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology, maternal-child health, and geriatric care, while fostering critical thinking, effective communication, and ethical decision-making. Under the guidance of experienced nursing faculty, students will engage in simulation-based training and direct patient care experiences to build a strong foundation for entry-level nursing practice.
Graduates of the program will be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN® licensure examination and pursue employment opportunities in hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, and home healthcare environments.

47-WEEK PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Project Heartbeat’s Vocational Nurse (VN) Training Program follows a structured 47-week calendar designed to provide students with a comprehensive, hands-on nursing education. The program blends didactic instruction, skills lab practice, and clinical experience, enabling students to develop the critical knowledge and practical skills necessary for success in the healthcare field.
1,530 total hours of training, encompassing both theory and clinical practice. This translates to 576 hours of theory and 954 hours of clinical hours.
