Audience /Overview

American Heart Association ACLS for healthcare providers includes management of Bradycardia, Tachycardia, and Pulseless arrest using 2020 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR & ECC, as well as the 2019 Update to the 2018 ASA Ischemic Stroke Guidelines.

What to do BEFORE class: 

Every student is required to take the Precourse Self Assessment Evaluation and review the 2020 ACLS Provider Manual before attending class. *

1. Go to https://elearning.heart.org/course/423/ 

2. Re-take this Precourse Self Assessment Evaluation until you receive a 76% or higher.

3. Print and bring Certificate of Completion and Self Assessment score. (Page 1 and 2) or email it to info@projectheartbeat.com on the day of class

Course Content

• Updated to reflect new science in the 2020 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR & ECC as well as the 2019 Update to the 2018 ASA Ischemic Stroke Guidelines.
• Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device and use of an (AED)
• Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
• Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
• Airway management
• Related pharmacology
• Management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and stroke
• Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team
• Effective Resuscitation Team Dynamics

Course Format

• ACLS Initial Course: 14 hours over 2 days, with time for breaks and lunch.
• 12 hour - 1 day, with time for breaks and lunch.
