Audience /Overview

Advanced 12 Lead EKG Interpretation is designed to provide healthcare professionals the ability to interpret 12 Lead EKGs (electrocardiograms) and recognize myocardial infarction (MI). Students will increase their confidence in interpretation and practice through this course. The Advanced 12 Lead EKG course provides a more comprehensive overview of reading EKGs.

• Anatomy, Electrophysiology and Action Potential
• Interpretation of EKG strips
• Electrical Conduction System
• Myocardial Ischemia, Injury and Infarction
• Inferior, Lateral, Septal, Anterior MI's
• Posterior MI's

• Axis Deviation and Bundle branch blocks
• ACS Imitators
• Therapeutic Modalities and Pharmacology
• Practice of EKG strips

Course Format

7 hours over 1 days, time for breaks and lunch is included

A powerpoint lecture manual will be handed out at the beginning of class to each student at no additional charge in addition to practice packet handouts

• Pocket Reference for The 12-Lead ECG in Acute Coronary Syndromes by Tim Phalen (we do not carry this book, but it is sold on Amazon)
  • recommended by our EKG instructor
  • 12-lead ECG interpretation and appropriate thrombolytic therapy
